All About Mrs. McCourt

Where are you from?
I live in Peterborough, Ontario with my husband and our three cats (Cringer, Daisy, and CJ).

What did you study at school?
I went to college first and then worked as a daycare supervisor before going to university. At university I studied English literature because I love reading books (especially poetry) and also took language courses for French, Italian, and Spanish because I love learning new words - maybe you will spot me signing "O Canada" in the mornings. I then went to school to become a teacher.

Where will we see you at Smithfield Public School?
You can find me in the library/computer lab, out on the school yard, in the grade 7/8 room, or in the hallway. Please say hello and introduce yourself.

Who will you be teaching?
I will be teaching all classes for library and computers, grade 3/4 for drama, and grade 7/8 for several subjects.

What are your interests/hobbies?
I love to listen to and play music all types of music (I play several instruments - but mostly piano and guitar). I also take art lessons every year so I love to paint, draw, and do pottery (right now I'm busy with Pysanky which is a Ukrainian art form for drawing symbols/designs on eggs with wax and then dying them). I am also an avid board game/card game collector and player.
